I’m performing at our ward party on Friday the 13th of Feb for a Valentine’s dance . . .
where: the chapel on A street and 3rd ave in the Avenues downtown. On N temple, go east up the hill past temple square to the stop sign, it’ll be the chapel there on your left at the top of the hill.
WHen: Friday Feb 13th 7-9pm
There’ll be snacks and live music with Hayley Singley and myself.
I don’t play at public venues often, mostly just private functions, much less for free, so this should be fun.
Here’s my entry for a songwriting competition about the change that’s coming . . .
In case you can’t understand the words (sung by Colette) here are the lyrics:
Guess what? I went to the ocean for my birthday. We saw dolphins jumping in the waves. Wish you could’ve been there.
Dear Daddy, guess what? Momma wants you to come home soon. She says Change is coming soon. Momma says Change is coming home too.
Daddy? Who is Change? What does he look like? Momma says he’ll bring you home . . . Is he a daddy like you? Momma says that he’ll bring you home.
Dear Daddy, is he big as you? Change is bigger than you, Daddy!
Change is coming soon.
We saw dolphins jumping in the water.
Here’s a flashback for anyone who played NES as a kid:
I recorded this today with bari, alto, and tenor saxophones.
This New Year’s Eve I performed for the Women’s Abuse Prevention Fundraiser in Salt Lake City.
